Dr. Robert Rosenthal
Dr. Robert became enamored with the Methow while working as a smokejumper in the North Cascades from 2010 to 2017. He met his wife Erin, also a smokejumper, on a fire in 2012. Between fire seasons Robert returned to school to pursue the study of dentistry. Robert graduated from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2021 with distinctions, including being selected by his classmates to receive the Dennis P. Duskin Inspirational Award, “for exhibiting outstanding character, personality, and integrity throughout his four years in dental school.” He was accepted into the prestigious Omicron, Kappa, Upsilon Dental Honors Society as a lifelong member. After graduation, Robert served as a community health dentist in Brewster Washington. Robert draws inspiration from his sister, a pediatric dentist, who passed away from lymphoma in 2015, as well as his dad who retired from dentistry in 2018.
Dr. Katarina Behla
We are thrilled to introduce our newest team member: Dr. Katarina Behla. Dr Kat, as she likes to be called, hails from Snohomish, Washington and has been a close friend to Dr. Rob since they started the dental school prerequisites ten years ago. In fact, it was Dr. Kat who helped nudge Dr. Rob towards dentistry while at EWU back in 2014.
In her own words, Kat was drawn to dentistry by her love of art: “when I’m not crafting beautiful smiles, you’ll find me indulging in my love for art. From sketching and painting, I’m always exploring my creative side.” Dr.Kat has a natural eye for esthetic dentistry and an interest in bringing some new skills to the dental practice such as the use of Botox and cosmetic injectables. But Dr. Kat’s skill set goes much further. She received advanced training in her residency in Endodontic therapy (root canals), implant surgery, wisdom tooth removal, and IV sedation at University of Las Vegas.
Dr. Kat was drawn to the area after spending the last six months of dental school in Okanogan and seeing that the area is great for an avid adventurer. When not at Sawtooth, you might find Dr. Kat skiing, climbing big rocks, hiking in the cascades, or playing video games with her friends.
